The Dingo 50 Cross is a lightweight 48cc off-road scrambler moped produced by the iconic Italian manufacturer Moto Guzzi from the late 1960s through the 1970s. Named after the agile Australian wild dog, the Dingo line was built to offer accessible, everyday transport with a youthful, adventurous spirit. The Cross variant was built for rougher paths, featuring high-mounted mudguards above 17-inch studded or knobby tyres, an engine sump guard plate, and a protective mesh cover over the headlight. It came equipped with higher, braced handlebars for an upright riding stance and a distinctive high-mounted side exhaust system complete with a protective heat shield. Powered by a small single-cylinder, two-stroke 48cc engine and 4 speed manual transmission.      Historical Significance: The Dingo Cross proved its rugged durability in 1966 when Italian journalist and engine enthusiast Roberto Patrignani rode one for 7,500 kilometers across Africa – from Cape Town to Asmara – relying on a simple 3-speed manual transmission and an onboard oil container. Today, the Dingo Cross is a charming and collectible piece of vintage Italian motorcycling history.
